Welcome to part one in a new series called THE PEACHY KEEN TIME MACHINE. A reoccurring post which will highlight topics from a past decade.
I wanted to create a nostalgic walk down memory lane, so to speak. Something that perhaps would stir up some warm fuzzy memories and take you back in time.
According to studies, indulging in nostalgia can be very beneficial.
Research shows that Nostalgia can “counteract loneliness, boredom and anxiety. It makes people more generous to strangers and more tolerant of outsiders. Couples feel closer and look happier when they’re sharing nostalgic memories. On cold days, or in cold rooms, people use nostalgia to literally feel warmer.”
So what better way to start off the series than by highlighting an
article by John Tierney called, “What Is Nostalgia Good For? Quite a Bit, Research Shows”
The second topic in The Peachy Keen Time Machine will be from the 1970’s. The seventies wouldn’t be the seventies without Disco. Roller disco, to be exact. Here’s a funny little video clip that combines roller disco and TV stars from the 1970’s
And the third topic for the series is all about moods. The Mood Ring.
A popular fad that started in the seventies, which has now become a collectible. Go figure.
Here's a link featuring the history of mood rings.
Keep your eye out for the next post in the series. Hope you enjoyed the ride...
* Shopping Hint - Want to tell what mood your in? Try a new version of the mood ring in necklace form https://bit.ly/2oKfA6i
